You know that old saying about how time flies? It’s true. Even though autumn doesn’t start until late September, everyone considers Labor Day to be the end of summer. School’s back in session, there’s no more summer vacation and all of our favorite summer fruits and veggies are gone. But wait just a minute…that last part’s not true. There are still plenty of summer goodies at the Franklin Farmers Market.

mAnd while it is almost the end of summer, the market keeps on going and going. There were a lot of people on Saturday, asking when the market would shut down for the winter. We don’t. The Franklin Farmers Market is open year-round, every Saturday. There are lots of good winter vegetables that our farmers grow too.

However with the fall season, there is a peculiar occurrence takes place at the market. There’s a curious change in the way things normally are. Something odd happens and strange occupants suddenly overrun the market. So be forewarned… they are coming to the Franklin Farmers Market soon… very soon.
Love the Franklin Farmers Market and it has become VERY popular which is good thing.Unfortunately there is not enough room to walk around. Please consider expanding or minimize the center space for the vendors.
The vendors in the center use for space than those on the periphery.
Crowds are good, but too crowded is unnerving……
You are right… the market is the place to be on Saturday mornings. And while we love the fact that the Franklin Farmers Market has become so popular, it does cause some problems with parking and traffic flow throughout the market space. We are constantly looking for ideas and solutions to make a visit to the market enjoyable for everyone. And we welcome all suggestions on how to make the market even better. I have been buying at the Franklin market for over 9 years; during this time I have watched it grow from the small space indoors to a sprawling outdoor pavillion and beyond. My one request would be for people to leave their dogs at home. Last weekend a basset and another dog barked at each other and a fight nearly erupted. The space is barely big enough for people to walk the aisles…let alone allowing space for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I have almost tripped over dogs and also nearly run into people trying to get away from dogs.
The market has become a popular place for people and dogs alike. But concern over the pets has grown. We don’t want to upset the dog owners, but at the same time, we also want to make sure that everyone is safe and there are no dog fights or accidents because of the dogs being at the market. The market administration is currently working on a solution and we expect to have a decision on the matter soon.
